The article describes the method of predicting reliability and durability an aircraft commutator, which is a primary source electric energy in helicopters. Tests were conducted for 10 starter-generators. From this research it follows that technical condition brushes bearings has significant impact on starter-generators was determined based consisting two stages adopted: first stage involved determining density function changes diagnostic parameter depending operating time, but second included assessment starter-generator taking into account real flight profile. adopted consisted defining dynamic model changing length starter-generator’s brush, became probabilistic model. Subsequently, differential equations, Fokker–Planck partial equation derived, process increasing brush wear way.
